No. Abhieo charges absolutely zero transaction fees on all electricity bill payments. You pay exactly your bill amount — nothing more. No convenience fee, no GST on service charge. This applies to both residential and commercial electricity connections, all DISCOMs, and all payment methods (UPI, debit card, credit card, net banking, wallet).
Your consumer number (also called CA Number, Account Number, or Service Number) is printed on your monthly electricity bill — usually at the top in a box labeled "Consumer No.", "CA No." or "Service No.". It is typically 10–13 digits. If you don't have a recent bill, you can find it in your DISCOM's self-care portal, in the welcome letter from when you first got your connection, or by calling your DISCOM's customer care with your registered address.
Payment confirmation via BBPS is instant. Your DISCOM's system is updated within seconds to a few minutes. You receive an SMS from both Abhieo and your DISCOM confirming payment. If your electricity was disconnected due to non-payment, restoration typically happens within 2–4 hours of confirmed payment receipt — though this varies by DISCOM and time of day.
Yes. Paying your outstanding dues via Abhieo triggers an automatic payment notification to your DISCOM, which initiates the reconnection process. For most DISCOMs, restoration happens within 2–4 business hours after payment confirmation. Some DISCOMs may require you to call their helpline with the payment transaction ID to expedite reconnection — Abhieo provides the transaction ID and receipt immediately after payment.
Yes. You can pay electricity bills for any consumer number — your own home, office, a rental property, or your parents' house — by entering that connection's consumer number and selecting the correct DISCOM. Abhieo saves previously paid connections so you can quickly reselect them each billing cycle. There is no limit on the number of different connections you can manage from a single Abhieo account.
Once you pay an electricity bill through Abhieo, the app saves your DISCOM and consumer number. It then automatically fetches your next bill's due date via BBPS and schedules two reminders — one 7 days before due date and one 2 days before — sent via SMS and in-app notification with a direct payment link for one-tap payment. You can enable auto-pay to have your bill paid automatically on or before the due date without any action required.
In case of a failed payment, your amount is automatically refunded to the original payment method within 2–4 hours. The refund is processed immediately without any manual request. Your DISCOM account will show no payment received (so your due date remains unchanged). If you don't receive the refund within 4 hours, contact Abhieo support at wecare@abhieo.in with your transaction ID for immediate resolution.
BBPS (Bharat Bill Payment System) is India's official RBI-regulated bill payment network operated by NPCI. It connects payment platforms like Abhieo directly to DISCOMs for standardised, secure bill payments. Every payment through BBPS is authenticated, encrypted, and auditable. Abhieo is a registered Bharat Connect Agent Institution under NPCI, meaning every electricity bill payment you make goes through the same regulated infrastructure used by all major Indian banks.
